TerraX - Customer Review

TerrraX has established itself as a robust track during its pilot project.

As TerraX deliveries are already in motion across Finland, the new track is set to make a strong impact on the logging community. Following a tremendous debut at FinnMETKO 2024 and a successful pilot project, TerraX will provide exceptional performance to operators with benefits of reducing downtime and fuel consumption*.

We developed TerraX in response to the growing demands and pressures in the forestry industry. As forestry machines get bigger this can cause challenges and requires stronger, more durable tracks. Typically making tracks stronger means adding more material, however at Clark Tracks we have turned this on its head and removed material in such a way that the plate retains the strength of but is much lighter in weight than its predecessor Terra95.

TerrraX has established itself as a robust track during its pilot project. Operators volunteered to put the track through its paces in their day-to-day operations. When talking about the profile, one customer shared “[They have] very good traction, it’s the best thing about this model.” Another told us that “[it’s] a bit too much traction for our needs on this kind of terrain. If there were steep hills, I’d definitely use these so I wouldn’t have to worry at all.” The TerraX has a profile that sits 2mm higher than Terra95, this will contribute to the great traction properties which our pilot operators have already had the opportunity to experience.

We also asked our pilot project operators about their thoughts on the new Adjustable Haggis Links that are in their TerraX sets. One commented “we have really liked this new way on tensioning, and the fact you have so much adjustability will all these adjustable links.” Another said “We tension them from the back. You get both sides easily at the same time. It’s safer, no need to climb on top of the track.” TerraX is revolutionary in its ability to provide extensive tensioning adjustability. This can mean no need to over tension a track set to fit a fixed size joining link which has the potential to reduce excess wear on tyres caused by over tensioning, allowing our customers to get the most out of their equipment when they use TerraX.
